A 25% hike?

I have been reading a lot of articles stating that the sixth pay commission is going to recommend a pay hike of about 25%. While this is assumed on the basis of provision of nearly Rs 5,000 crore (Rs 50 billion) for the anticipated recommendations of the 6th Pay Commission in the Railway budget announce by Lalu Prasad, there is no official word about it.

This amount is only anticipatory figures and is not based on any figures from the pay panel. Provision is also made for additional sources if required.

Also the implementation of the pay commission recommendations is not likely to be in the current fiscal year. The finance minister in his budget speech only mentioned about the submission dates of the pay panel recommendations and did not allocate any amount for the implementations.

Considering the above points I am hopeful of receiving a hike of 35% to 40% as discussed here in Delhi circles. Put your comments here.
